Cadet and Junior Women’s Information 2008-09
Sue Benney
has announced the following for the new season:
Please check for yourselves the exact dates of domestic competitions and make sure you enter on time. Some competitions may impose limits on the sizes of entries so don’t leave your entries to the last minute.
The Cadet Selection list is for selection for Europeans and Worlds. The Cadet Development list is for selection for foreign trips and to allow new fencers to start gaining points. It is not recommended that you try to do all the competitions on the Development list. You need to speak with your coach/parents or Sue Benney before deciding which are best for you.
This is a new list showing the competitions that will count for ranking points for qualification for the Cadet Europeans & Worlds and the Junior Worlds. For both Cadet and Junior selection we can count your 3 highest domestic points plus your 3 highest foreign points plus, for Cadets, the Cadet (U17) Championships (COMPULSORY) and, for Juniors, the Junior (U20) Championships (COMPULSORY).
There is a link to the left for details of this season's selection schemes as agreed by the International Committee of British Fencing.
The
Cadet foreign competitions will be confirmed when Sue has the dates; some
domestic nominated competitions may have to change if there are clashes. Cadets can
count results from Junior nominated 'A' grades.
Selection
for A grades will be approx.
6 weeks
before the date of the competition.
All
fencers going abroad must sign a good behavior contract, available from BFA
website or Sue will send one when she sends details of competitions.
IF YOU ARE FENCING IN A GRADES THIS SEASON YOU MUST APPLY TO BFA HEADQUARTERS FOR AN FIE LICENCE.
If you have any questions Sue will be at the Bristol Open or phone her on 01458 831836 or email her at sue.benney@talktalk.net.
.
SELECTION FOR PORTUGAL WILL BE AFTER THE
SENIOR NATIONAL
CHAMPIONSHIPS!
